Spring Feasts (Fulfilled in Jesus' First Coming)

Passover (Pesach)

Commemorates Israel’s deliverance from Egypt through the blood of the lamb (Exodus 12). Fulfillment in Jesus: Jesus is the Passover Lamb (1 Corinthians 5:7). His crucifixion occurred on Passover, fulfilling the prophecy of the sacrificial lamb whose blood brings salvation.

Feast of Unleavened Bread

A seven-day feast symbolizing the removal of sin (leaven) from Israel’s midst. Fulfillment in Jesus: Jesus was sinless (unleavened) and His body was buried during this feast (1 Peter 2:22, John 6:35). He is the "bread of life."

Feast of Firstfruits

Celebrated on the first day after the Sabbath following Passover, marking the first harvest. Fulfillment in Jesus: Jesus rose from the dead on Firstfruits (1 Corinthians 15:20). His resurrection is the firstfruits of those who will be raised to eternal life.

Feast of Weeks (Pentecost/ Shavuot)

Fifty days after Firstfruits, commemorates the giving of the Law at Mount Sinai and the wheat harvest. Fulfillment in Jesus: On Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was given to believers (Acts 2), fulfilling Jeremiah 31:31-34 by writing the law on believers' hearts.

Fall Feasts (To Be Fulfilled in Jesus' Second Coming)

Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah)

A day of trumpet blasts, signifying a call to repentance and preparation for judgment. Fulfillment in Jesus: Likely represents the Rapture or return of Jesus (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17), when the trumpet will sound, and believers will be gathered to Him.

Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur)

A solemn day of repentance and atonement for sins through the high priest’s intercession. Fulfillment in Jesus: Jesus is our High Priest (Hebrews 9:11-12). His second coming will bring final atonement for Israel and judgment for the world (Zechariah 12:10).

Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot)

A joyful festival remembering God’s provision in the wilderness and looking forward to His dwelling among His people. Fulfillment in Jesus: Jesus is God dwelling with us (John 1:14, "The Word became flesh and dwelt [tabernacled] among us"). In the future, He will reign as King during the Millennial Kingdom (Zechariah 14:16-19).
